Stay on Rokkosan

With Japan now open to the world and more and more people coming to visit, it is wonderful to see and meet many people from around the world visiting Rokkosan and getting to know this wonderful aspect of Kobe City.

 

One thing that people have asked about is not just visiting Rokkosan, but places to stay here on the mountain. 

 

There are actually a number of places where one can do this and here are a few of the places where one can stay and get to enjoy and experience even more and different aspects of Rokkosan.

ROKKONOMAD

On the top of the mountain facing south, ROKKONOMAD has incredible views of the Osaka and Kobe cities as well as Osaka Bay. They have both private rooms for short stay as well as two cottages that can be used for larger groups and/or longer stays. BBQ plans are also available to really enjoy the outdoors and wonderful delights of Rokkosan. Wake up to the sun, birds singing and great trails to get in some exercise. Hotel Kobe Rokko Geihinkan

This is a beautiful hotel with standard, deluxe and superior rooms as well as a restaurant and cafe.They have several large indoor and an outdoor public bath filled with hot spring water.  Views out over Osaka, Kobe and the Bay make for a lovely ambiance when relaxing, bathing or eating. They have barrier free rooms for those in a wheelchair or elderly and there are even rooms where one can bring a pet and have them stay with you.

Rokko Outdoor Station Foton

A tiny boutique hostel on the top of Mt. Rokko just behind the city of Kobe. They have three cozy rooms that are perfect for families or groups of friends. The inside walls are all hand painted with special natural plaster. They offer come classes on coffee roasting, rope climbing as well as a chance to bathe in an iron barrel. Home cooked meals also available.

ThinkStay Mt.

This is a new place just a few minutes of walking from the top Rokko Cable station, one can find these unique structures to read, brainstorm new ideas, conduct workshops, watch outdoor movies, or even enjoy a bonfire while surrounded by nature. They even have a Japanese style building to create a rich environment to enjoy Rokkosan. Some English is available on their website.

RENEST

Nestled in the woods with views on the back side of Rokkosan, this lovely place has five holiday homes that can be rented for small or large groups. A central BBQ house as well as open deck for relaxing make for a number of areas that can be used to enjoy the outdoors of Rokkosan.

Nature Live Rokko

This is a new high end Glamping place on Rokkosan. Five luxurious cottages with incredible views of Osaka, Kobe and the bay. Each has a net balcony overlooking the mountain and there is a central tree “nest” for parents or kids to relax in. Try your hand at chopping wood and relax by a lovely bonfire as you look at the stars. Hammocks are set up in the woods for reading or just relaxing and listening to the birds sing.

Ocean Terrace Ajisai

A glamorous hotel with spacious both western as well as Japanese rooms, your own outdoor jacuzzi bath, fine dining and spectacular views. If you are looking for a first class hotel on the mountain, this is the place for you.

As you can see, there are many different types of places to stay on Rokkosan, each has its own ambiance and will ensure that you have a lovely time no matter where you are. 

 

There are also places to stay in Mayasan, Ashiya as well as numerous places in Kobe City. 

 

So on your visit to Japan, be sure to add a night or two on or nearby Rokkosan to your itinerary!
