Rokko Autumn Night Lights

Rokko Autumn Night Lights

Autumn days are some of the best times to be on Rokkosan. The skies are clear, nice cool breezes and the beautiful changing color of the leaves. Perfect for hiking, having a picnic and visiting the many nice venues. Of course Autumn also means the Rokko Meets Art Festival is on with many lovely installations to visit. (See previous post).

Autumn nights can be a bit cool (good to have an extra layer or two if planning to be on Rokkosan in the evening) and the views quite spectacular as well as being able to see the night sky, stars and constellations.

To enhance the evening experience even more, several facilities will be holding night light up events. This autumn there will be light up installations at the Rokko Alpine Botanical Garden, the ROKKO Forest Sound Museum and the Rokko Garden Terrace / Rokko-Shidare Observatory and the facilities will remain open late into the evening on these days.

The schedule for this year is to be open on weekends in October from the 16th and then from the 1st of November to the 23rd. So the dates will be: 10/16 (Sat), 17 (Sun), 23 (Sat), 24 (Sun), 30 (Sat), 31 (Sun), then 11/1 (Mon) to 23 (Tuesday). The times will be: Mon-Fri 17: 00-18: 30 (18:00 last entrance), Sat / Sundays and public holidays 17: 00-20: 00 (19:30  last entrance) Rokko Garden Terrace area is ~ 21: 00, Rokko-Shidare Observatory is ~ 21: 00 (20:30  last entrance).

At the Rokko Alpine Botanical Garden, visitors will be given LED lanterns to carry with them around the venue that are controlled wirelessly. The changing colors of the lanterns combined with the lights of the landscape as well as synchronized music will make for an incredible viewing experience of light and sound.

They will also have the autumn foliage lit up as well as the many art exhibits throughout the area to create a beautiful and fantastic atmosphere.
