Spring has officially arrived on Rokkosan, and the mountain is undergoing its annual transformation. While many visitors come for the city views, the real stars this season are right under your feet and lining the trails.
Whether you are a serious hiker or a casual weekend explorer, here is how to dive into the botanical wonders of the mountain this season.

Before you hit the trails, make sure to stop by the Rokkosan Guide House. It’s a goldmine of information for nature lovers. We have a wide variety of free pamphlets dedicated to the local flora. 📘✨
Even if you don’t read Japanese, these guides are incredibly helpful. They feature:

For a change of pace, head over to the Rokko Garden Terrace. From April 17th until August 16th, they are hosting the “Strange Plants Exhibition” (Kimyoi Shokubutsuten). 🛸🪴
This isn’t your typical flower show. It focuses on the weird, the wonderful, and the slightly creepy side of the plant kingdom. It’s a fantastic event for families and curious minds alike.

Highlights of the Exhibition:
Open 10:00 until 21:00 everyday. Tickets are ¥1,000 for adults (junior high school and above), ¥500 (4yo to junior high school). Children 0yo to 3yo are free.

To make the most of your spring visit, we recommend a “Nature & Culture” loop:

From the quiet, tiny wild violets found in the forest to the giant, bizarre carnivores at the Garden Terrace, spring on Rokkosan is a celebration of life in all its forms. Grab a pamphlet, follow the trails, and see how many “strange” and beautiful things you can find! 🌿💎✨
See you on Rokkosan!
